I know. In this time with the Coronavirus making victims, it is perhaps not appropriate. This terrible disease, me staying home, gave me some time to make a remembrance for those who died years ago, for our freedom. But I also commemorate the veterans who suffer from this new enemy. I wrote this music years ago. It never lost its meaning: 'for everybody, there will be a final goodbye'. This film is a tune, which should be played at their final goodbye. Deze muziek schreef ik ergens aan het begin van dit millenium. Zo'n 20 jaar geleden na een van de eerste bezoeken aan Normandië. Het is een eerste ontmoeting met wat er allemaal in Normandië is gebeurd. Veel omvattend, teveel omvattend. Het resulteerde in een website www.backtonormandy.org en veel muziek/film/foto's. Met de nieuwe sampletechnologie heb ik een nieuwe versie geschreven.
