Alt Name: --. Opened: 1917. Status in 1944: 8th AF. 356th Fighter Group. Current use: Housing. Remarks: Aeroplane Experimental Station in WW1. Hangars and misc buildings still extant and in VGC due to industrial usage. Museum in the old control tower otherwise the airfield is rapidly disappearing under roads and an estate. (10/2002)
