On Saturday 22 May 1943, a member of the 149 Sqdn, Sergeant A James, took off from Lakenheath in the United Kingdom. His mission is mentioned elsewhere on WW2 History Europe. Minelaying: 104 aircraft - 64 Wellingtons, 36 Stirlings, 4 Lancasters - carried out extensive minelaying in the Frisians and the River Gironde, and off La Pallice. 3 Wellingtons and 1 Stirling lost. 4 Mosquitos attacked Berlin without loss.

22 May 1943

7 Mosquitos to attack railway workshops at Nantes turned back because of fighter opposition. No aircraft lost.
