(Eighth Air Force:) HQ 350th Fighter Group and the 345th, 346th and 347th Fighter Squadrons are activated at Bushey Hall, England; the ground echelons of the squadrons are at Harding Field, Louisiana and will sail to North Africa for the invasion.
(Twelfth Air Force:) The 441st, 442d and 443d Bombardment Squadrons (Medium), 320th Bombardment Group (Medium), move from Hethel to Tibenham, England with B-26s.

Flensburg
27 Halifaxes of 4 Group. Good bombing results were claimed by 12 crews but 12 aircraft were lost, nearly half of the force.
Lübeck
25 Stirlings of 3 Group. Bombing was scattered. 3 aircraft lost.
Total effort for the night: 130 sorties, 17 aircraft (13.0 per cent) lost.
