On Saturday 06 November 1943, a member of the 105 Sqdn, Flight Lieutenant J Gordon, took off from Marham in the United Kingdom. His mission is mentioned elsewhere on WW2 History Europe. STRATEGIC OPERATIONS

(Eighth Air Force): VIII Bomber Command Mission 123. 2 B-17's drop 440,000 leaflets over Paris at 0241-0250 hours. The 36th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), Eighth Air Force, arrives at Alconbury, England from the U.S. The squadron will begin flying CARPETBAGGER missions in Dec 43.

TACTICAL OPERATIONS

(Ninth Air Force): HQ IX Bomber Command arrives at Marks Hall, England from Bengasi, Libya. HQ 315th Troop Carrier Group and it's 34th Troop Carrier Squadron transfer from Aldermaston to Welford, England. The 34th is operating from Blida, Algeria with C-47's.



Campaign report of the RAF:


5/6 November 1943

26 Mosquitos made small attacks on Bochum, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Hannover. 27 OTU Wellingtons carried leaflets to France. No aircraft lost.

6/7 November 1943

19 Mosquitos to Bochum, Duisburg and Düsseldorf, 16 Wellingtons minelaying off Texel, Brest, Lorient and St Nazaire, 8 OTU sorties. No aircraft lost.
