On 1943-07-18, Pilot J A F Maclachlan (Squadron Leader, AFDU) with servicenumber 39639 flew a Mustang I with serial FD442 for this duty: Ranger. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Died 31 July 1943. This aircraft was a part of unit: AFDU. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Maclachlan: he died 31/7/43. He is commemorated at: Pont L'eveque (Route De Caen) Communal Cemetery, France.
