1st Polish Armoured Division liberation of Ypres
The First Armoured Division crossed Belgian border on September 6th, then expelled the last Germans off Ypres in the evening - for this action, Prince Charles, Régent of Belgium, will grant the 9th battalion the title of “Rifles of Flandres”
