242 Infantry Regiment (USA) into reserve at Hangenbeiten

On the first of January the 222nd Infantry took over the sector of the 242nd and that regiment was
moved into Task Force reserve near the tiny towns of Holtzheim and Hangenbeiten, two snow-covered
farm villages about four miles outside of Strasbourg.
