53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division (UK) landing at Arromanche
First units of 53rd Infantry Division started to land in Arromanches on June 25th. At once, Welsh division was attached to the 8th Corps which launched out the Epsom operation. Placed in reserve, it however did not have opportunity to intervene, the operation having failed to open the road to Caen.
