General Eisenhower and his staff have left London and moved to Southwick House, on the outskirts of Portsmouth. General Bradley has been appointed head of the 1st U.S. Army, Admiral Ramsay commands the Navy, General Montgomery directs the 21st Army Group, Air Marshal Leigh-Mallory is head of Aviation, and General Bedell Smith is Chief of Staff.
The Air Marshal ArthurTedder is General Eisenhower’s Deputy.
